Hi, I'm Kayla. I am a woodfire artist and object maker.
I make work that explores the power of touch. Creating allows the ephemeral to become real; I make dreams come true. My pursuit of woodfired pottery is an homage to the unpredictable, the primal, and the beautifully imperfect. I make imaginary spaces. I make things that make you f e e l. |
In teaching, my goal is for every student to leave with an increased understanding and appreciation for the ceramic process. Clay is such a dynamic, exciting material and I relish every opportunity to share my passion. Throughout firings we will discuss the fuel we use, the materials we construct our work with, and how we may use these to their fullest potential.
